Aussie photographer and blogger Louise Hawson (above), of 52suburbs.com, recently explored and blogged about Queensland’s suburbs.

“I love the old Queenslanders in Brisbane as well as the re-purposed wool stores,” says Hawson.

“And Longreach is like another world, one where people have time to talk and aren’t in constant rush mode. I would have loved to have stayed another week and soaked up the peace there.”

Her blog 52suburbs.com began by showcasing the Sydney suburbs.  Hawson had lived in Sydney for over 30 years and had never seen most of the city’s suburbs.

From September 2009 to October 2010, she explored and photographed one Sydney suburb a week.  Her project connected with readers in Australia and around the world.

Hawson’s blog led to a book deal, speaking engagements and a photography exhibition at the Museum of Sydney.
