250 Ways To Experience Italy

Traveling or living in Italy? Then you might fancy Experience Italy, the Turin and Piedmont event, March 17 to November 20, 2011.
The event will highlight the past, the present and the future of Italy to mark the 150th anniversary of Italy’s Unification.
Turin, Italy’s first capital and Piedmont, will host 250 days of Experience Italy shows, themed exhibitions, festivals, conferences and debates.
Organizers say Experience Italy is aimed at the 150 million people who have connections to Italy including Italians; immigrants; emigrants and their descendants and people who love Italy.
Here are some of the upcoming Experience Italy exhibitions:
- Making Italians: The exhibition, of multimedia installations and interactive experiences, will cover the history and the national mood in Italy from 1861 to 2011.
- Beautiful Italy. Art and identity of the capital cities: Some 300+ Italian masterpieces will show culture, traditions and historic-artistic heritage of cities by artists including Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo, Botticelli, Titian, Caravaggio, Rubens and more.
- Italy likes what it sees. 150 years of high fashion from the Unification to the present date: This exhibition will focus on high fashion and Italian style from Unification to 2011 including creations by top modern fashion designers.
