Bath Christmas Market.

Shopping at Christmas markets everywhere can be great ways to support local culture and business.

In the UK, the popular Bath Christmas Market, November 25 to December 12, 2010, is returning and extending by an extra week into December.

Set in the surroundings of Bath’s centre, next to Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths, the Christmas market will showcase 120 local and regional retailers.

In wooden chalet style stalls, the retailers will offer Christmas gifts from traditional wooden toys to unique jewelery to handmade homewares.

Festive music, street entertainment and roasted nuts and Gluhwein will also enhance the Christmas atmosphere.

At the same time as Bath Christmas Market, there will be city Christmas events happening nearby:

• Bath Abbey: regular shoppers carol services;

• The Jane Austen Centre: Jane Austen’s Regency Christmas and

• American Museum in Britain: ‘Christmas at Claverton’ celebrations.
