Are you a foodie living or traveling in NYC?  Then you’ll want to check out The Edible Garden, from June 19 through October 17, 2010 at The New York Botanical Garden.

Across the 250-acre Botanical Garden, the exhibition will celebrate locally grown, seasonal food through demonstrations from food and gardening experts.

At four daily kitchen gardens and cooking demonstrations, visitors will learn how to grow the best food at home.  The Edible Garden proceeds will benefit the Children’s Gardening program.

Special appearances will be made by Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless, Daisy Martinez, Dan Barber, Sara Moulton, and others during four festival weekends.

Celebrity chefs will narrate The Edible Garden Audio Tour available on cell phones. Audio tour listeners can also receive text messages with nutritional information, recipes, tips, and food growing facts.

The Edible Garden’s four festival weekends will be:

  • Get Out and Grill, a summer grilling opening weekend on June 19 and 20;
  • Fiesta de Flores y Comida, a celebration of Latin American and Caribbean food and flowers, on September 25 and 26;
  • Family Harvest (Columbus Day Weekend), on October 9, 10, and 11 and
  • Fall Finale, October 16 and 17.
