Want to save time, money on gas and green your driving?  If you’re an iPhone or Android user in the U.S., then the INRIX Traffic! app might do the job.

The app offers real-time traffic information and traffic forecasts for U.S. major highways, Interstates, arterials and city streets nationwide.

For U.S. drivers, the app can give them the fastest route, recommended departure time, travel time and ETA for places they’re going.

A traffic information and driver services provider, INRIX says its studies show drivers who use the app everyday can save the annual equivalent in emissions from driving a car 370 miles.

In the Texas Transportation Institute’s 2010 Urban Mobility Report, the daily use of INRIX Traffic! helped drivers:

• Spend one less day a year idle in traffic;
• Save gas and money burning one less tank of fuel per year and
• Reduce vehicle emissions by 350 lbs of carbon.

Features of the traffic app include:

• Real-time traffic information updated every minute covering more than one million miles of highways and city streets in U.S. cities;
• Analysis of data from 400+ public and private sources;
• Real-time reports of accidents, construction, police, and other traffic-impacting events and
• Real-time images from the U.S. network of over 10,000 traffic cameras.

The app works with all iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices using iOSv3.0 and later.

INRIX Traffic! is also compatible with Android v.2.0 and later including the HTC Evo, HTC Incredible and Motorola Droid X smartphones and the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy tablets.
