Fancy cool, young eco-fashion for your next adventure? Then take a look at ethical clothing from UK’s Rapanui Clothing.

The small Isle of Wight-based brand wants to “make eco-fashion cool” with its new range of clothing and website. Founded in 2008 by brothers Rob and Martin Drake-Knight, the company focuses on sustainable textiles and buying in clothes that match an ethical ethos.

Rapanui Clothing says every product is made from organic natural fabrics in a wind-powered factory audited by the Fairwear Foundation. Every worker, says the company, gets a fair wage and clean and safe working conditions.

Say twentysomethings Rob and Martin Drake-Knight:

‘If we can inform and educate people as to where clothing comes from and how it is made they can then make informed decisions as shoppers; It’s not that people don’t care it’s just they don’t know. We’re all young people ourselves and think it’s only right that people of our age can have access to high street style eco-clothing and in the process can learn a bit about their clothes.”

The company’s website features a traceability resource with information on where clothing comes from, how it is made and common questions.
