Caribbean Galley Bay Resort & Spa has been named the  “Most Excellent Eco Resort” at the 2010 Awards for Excellence by Conde Nast Johansens, the international luxury travel guide authority.

The Green Globe certified Antigua resort is the  first eco-award winner for the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific.  Hotel guests and Conde Nast Johansens’ inspection team voted on the 2010 Awards for Excellence. Last year, Conde Nast Traveler recognized the resort with its “Top 25 Caribbean Resorts, Reader’s Choice Award”.

The luxury resort’s 48 beachside Premium Suites feature 32-inch, flat-screen, wall-mounted TVs, iPod docking stations, DVD players and wireless Internet access.  They also have oversized bathrooms with his and hers showers and corner soaking tubs for two. The spa Indulge has two elevated massage decks which overlook the lagoon and bird sanctuary.

The resort’s 98 guest rooms are set amid tropical gardens along its private beach and gardens with individual plunge pools and lagoon views. Three restaurants and three bars offer three meals a day, afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres, beverages, entertainment, cocktail parties and barbecues.  Recreation options include non-motorized water sports, pools, jogging and hiking and tennis.
