“I love writing. I love traveling. I love photography. I love Asia. I don’t need any more than this to be inspired,” she says.

Kellenberger launched My Several Worlds to keep her family and friends updated on her travels and adventures in Asia.  Since then, she launched another two sites – Taiwan Photographers and Best Beaches in Asia and a third – Lay Your Head Here with her husband.

Says Kellenberger:  “My plan for 2010 is to bring it all back home. I’ll still be writing about travel, destinations, cultures, and lifestyles, but I also want to go old school and start writing more about our personal observations, experiences and travels in Asia.”

Digital versions of your favorite travel magazines are greener, more mobile alternatives to their paper versions.

Select airlines and media companies are featuring free digital versions of their magazines on their sites.  While more travel magazines are offering a free preview of their digital version and digital subscriptions.

In other cases, magazines are opting to enhance their online profile, increasing current and archived content on their sites.  If you’re seeking digital travel magazines, sites like Zinio sell subscriptions to diverse consumer and trade publications.

We love Wend Magazine (above), which specializes in adventure/inspiration/travel/activism.  The magazine launched its digital version over a year ago.

Says Stiv Wilson, Editor in Chief, Wend Magazine:

“We invested in the digital platform for several reasons.  Even though we pay through the nose for locally sourced FSC certified paper and print locally, digital is still, of course, greener…It’s been received well.  For one, it’s great to have this asset for international subscribers, and because production is a fixed cost, it allows poor college students and the like to be able to get a subscription on a cheap beer budget.  Also, it’s a tremendous marketing tool…”

Cycling and cycling blogs are alive and kicking all over the world.

We love the street stylish blog Copenhagen Cycle Chic by journalist, film director and photographer Mikael Colville-Andersen.  The blog was born in 2007 when he created a place for photos about Copenhagen’s bicycle culture on the Internet.

Colville-Andersen has teamed up with other cycling bloggers, including their angles, perspectives and photos.   Since 2007, numerous Cycle Chic “collaborator & copycat”  blogs and websites inspired by CCC have launched.

Says Colville-Anderson:

“Copenhagen Cycle Chic aims to take back the bike culture by showing how the bicycle once again can be an integral, respectable and feasible transport form, free of sports clothes and gear, and how it can play a vital role in increasing the life quality in cities.”
