Greenheart Travel has launched the Global Greenheart Initiative (GGI), a new student volunteering program.
Part of the Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI), Greenheart Travel arranges high school abroad programs for Americans and Canadians.
CCI and Greenheart Travel promote social responsibility and environmental awareness through cultural exchange.
This new Global Greenheart program will enable students to give back to their host communities through volunteering.
Says Greenheart Travel:
“Volunteering in a foreign country enables the students to further immerse themselves in a new language and culture while making a long lasting difference in the community they’re visiting.”
In the Global Greenheart Club, students will volunteer in their host community by networking through their in-country local coordinator.
Global Greenheart Grants will be awarded to students for community development projects they’ll create in their host country.
GGI will be available in the program’s host countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
Applications for students interested in the high school abroad and volunteering program are due September 15 for the Spring 2012 semester.
