Love volunteer and outdoor vacations in the U.S.? Then take a look at Colorado’s latest outdoor volunteer vacations, from mountain bike trail building to archeological excavation classes.
Here are 3 Volunteer Vacations:
- Give and Getaway at RockResorts. RockResorts properties and participating hotels in Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Aspen arrange environmental conservation projects for guests. Volunteering guests will receive reduced hotel rates and complimentary gifts.
- Choose a VOC experience. Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) offers opportunities to “enhance, protect and sustain Colorado’s natural resources.” There are 40+ volunteer experiences available from April through October 2010.
- Build history with the Continental Divide Trail Alliance. The Colorado section of the Continental Divide Trail is 800 miles through stunning and rugged landscapes. The Alliance features summer volunteer experiences on the trail at locations including ghost towns; wilderness areas, high mountain peaks and National Parks.

These are really cool! Do you know if these options are free?

Thanks Bethany! The Colorado volunteer vacations are a mixed bag really. Some definitely are tied to a hotel stay while others might have a related free or be free.
Always a great to do good while having a good time and enjoying nature – perfect combination!

All three sound very interesting. The archeological excavation classes appeal to me.
